There's no reason a hypocrit can't own a great bike. Sometimes its FU money. Not everyone is struggling, and there is no physical test that needs to be passed to buy a bike. Look at it as you being the serious rider, and me buying a piece of Art, that you can aspire to, but will only get to see when I bring it out on Sundays. While you are waiting to become Cat 1 or Pro - when you probably won't get to choose your bike - you at least get to view and also feel superior to those who wish to spend their money on something they always wanted. Cycling is a wonderful sport. On my best day, I could never afford a Ferrari (or the greatest of cars) but I could spring for the greatest of bikes. |

Yeah Indeed. Newton Stem and Bars, Record everything, it's a bit overkill for a Galileo maybe, but next season I may buy a Prince, or Prince SL and I'll move my Chorus stuff to the Galileo. I've got the Eurus wheels in the pic, a set of Ksyriums, and a set of Chorus/Open Pros for around town. I have that Chorus Ti Seatpost, as well as a Carbon Record, and DEDA blackstick. I used to ride very competitvely, but I've been out of the game for a while, and for three years now riding MTB's. I just bought the road bike a few months ago, and I must say its a HUGE difference over the last one I owned. I raced a Gitane back in the 80's, and I always lusted after the Colnagos, Masi's and Pinarello's, so when I decided to buy a new road bike, I bought what I wanted, rather than what I needed ![]() No regrets, I LOVE this bike. It actually had me thinking of giving up the MTB for while. I will race a few races in the spring, and see how it goes, I may keep the Galileo for another season, and see what kind of deal I can get on a nice Prince SL in 2005. I still need to lose about 18 more pounds before I'll feel comfortable on a road starting line. I do well in the woods, but you can't get away with quite as much on the pavement. Nice Felt, too bad you got Shimano kidding...sort of.Dave |

Hey all,
here's a pic of my recently bought roadbike: It's actually a blanco frame with LOVERDI put on it by the bikestore which sells them. Except from the shifters (Shimano 105) everything is Shimano Tiagra. Rigida Contour rims, Specialized Armadillo anti-flats (tires) Profile design aerobar and aqua rack. Polar S210 goes on the bikemount.. Damage: 1300 euro's, about 1400-1500 dollars I guess. Noel.

The Eurus are absolutely phenomenal. They are noticeably lighter than my training wheels, so when I put em on, I can really say the bike feels more responsive in everything. I have some pretty competitive riding buddies, so when we head out off 360 for a hill ride, I throw 'em on and the whole thing feels five pounds lighter. I use a Record Ti Cassette on those, but a Chorus steel on the other two. I really bought them to race with in the spring. Dave |

Thanks for the feedback. You echo what everyone else has said. I demo's a set of Neutrons and liked them alot. Since I live in the flatlands of the midwest I wanted to go aero versus more climb specific.
