Hey Frigo, did you live anywhere near Punxsutawney, the site of one of my favorite movies - Groundhog Day.

Incidentally, in that movie, I could never understand why one of the times he woke up in his time warp, he didn't just drive straight out of Punxsutawney. I mean, the storm didn't hit until later.

I grew up in Wilkes-Barre which is about five hours from Punxsutawney.

The pizza will be almost frozen when it reaches Seatle. They "par bake" the stuff and then freeze it. It defrosts in transit and you simply pop it in your oven.

Has anybody ever broken the scaphoid bone in their wrist? I crashed four years ago and hurt my wrist. However, since it was my first year of racing, I didn't want to miss any part of the season so I avoided going to the doctor. After about a year, the excruciating pain began to slowly subside. Although in the past six months its gotten worse. So, I finally went to an orthopedic surgeon. After telling me it was still broken, he asked why the freak I didn't go to the doctor when it happened. I told him it was racing season and I didn't want to miss any time... He immediately understood. Turns out he used to race for my team.

I now have to get a screw inserted and will be off of the bike for a few months. My question is what extent, if any, will I loose mobility in the wrist in the future.

Was that last question just inserted to give you a reason to tell us about your broken wrist (which I am very sorry that you have been in pain for so long BTW).

Seriously though, with my limited medical knowledge, your wrist should repair as good as new. Unless there is permanent scarring of your ligaments which IMO is unlikely.

Once the weak link in the chain is fixed, and the pins come out, Voila...you are the man/cyclist you were four years ago, without the pain.

In any case, if there is any residual pain after your rehab period is over - ask the doctor for a topical injection of cortisone. Often fixes things overnight - especially around the small bones of the hands and feet. Worked for me.
