Welcome back Frigo. You have been gone for a long time. In fact, Malkmus accused you of being a jerk or something to that effect...

There was a cricket match on the field in the middle of our club's crit a few weeks ago. We had all of these guys dressed in white meandering along the course oblivious to the fact that they were about to get run over.

My wife's chiro practice is starting to get going, so we will be ok. It is still tight.....real tight money wise, but we have learned some VERY good lessons through all of this. We have had a personal "Gread Depression" and have a different perspective on money than before, and that is a very good thing. Any news on your front? (message me if writing about it here would be too uncomfortable)
Glad to know that things are going well TFF. Hope the money situation will ease somewhat soon for you...

Another by the way...pizza in Philadelphia sucks.
We have a place here opened by some NY Italians, and they serve NY street style slices and 20" pies. Man, that place is a gold mine considering the number of NY transplants here. The place is always packed, the pizza is cheap, and it is freaking awesome with just cheese or pepperoni.(2 slices usually, though one is the size of a small pizza) Add in a root beer, and for about 6 bucks, you got good freaking eating.

That being said, Merts (southern soul food) in uptown puts any type of food made outside of the south to shame in my opinion. The fried chicken and collards, with some squash caserole and a biscuit, and a slice of red velvet cake is a meal good enough to make a man cry. And the chicken and dumplings...don't even get me started. I made fried dill pickle slices (you heard right) a few nights ago, and I have to say that they were pretty freakin great too. I LOVE to eat.

I haven't spent enough time in the south. That stuff sounds good. It is actually a bit similar to Menonite food. As my neighbor says...beige is good eatin.

We have some good barbeque places. No real great southern stuff. This guy's upscale southernish restaurant is a couple of blocks away. http://www.jacksfirehouse.com/JackM...70/Default.aspx

Anybody remember him? Bobby Flay went on to become famous. Jack just came back to the neighborhood.

We do have a great Belgian place. My favorite bar. Its a neighborhood bar/restaurant that is very intimate. Two blocks from my house with very good food and great beer. If only they would show the classics.

Not unless you are arguing with a post I made weeks ago...
