Weren't the seventies a wonderful time for new age radical teaching theories, and teachers with long hair and beards singing Simon and Garfunkel songs to the class.

I spent sixth grade in an "open class" where we combined three classes into one. Got to grade seven and the poor teacher had to teach us 90% of grade six as well as grade seven. It was just a one year experiment we were involved in...
