Default That smell on Yarra boulevard

Hi all,

Does anyone know what that hideous smell is that wofts over onto yarra boulevard sometimes? I'm just curious as it makes me want to throw up and I find it REALLY hard to hold my breath whilst riding!

Thanks

Bats, 1000's of them. So the smell of them, and all their droppings from their nestings.

I pity the people that have their 'million dollar houses' in that section of Melbourne only to be stunk out when the wind blows the wrong way.

Oh my. I really wish you had said its like a brewery smell or something. I'm going to have great visuals now!

Imagine laying down several million dollars. Sitting out on your super expensive verandah and being hit by the smell for the first time. That'd hurt!

HA! Bats? Really?

I also thought it was something coming up from one of the businesses down there.

It smells ok the first time 'round, although strong, then it gets worse and worse each lap

LAPS?! You must be one of those freaks who fly straight past me! hehe

Just out of curiousity, how long does it take you to go from the entrance near amcor to the end? I actually start after that hill on the top - I come in via the narrow suspension bridge and up the windy hill.

^ never timed it. Actually, I don't think I could even give a rough time.

I think it's just under 7km???? So,....well....nah, I dunno

I don't go there much coz I'm in the south east, only 8km from Beach Rd, plus the surface is horrible -- at least it was the last time I was there.

Well its either the bats (if you are talking about the part near the golf course) or its the brewery up near... well the brewery.

I never found the brewery smell that bad, strong but not bad.

hmmm, I just remembered they have heaps of time-trials around there, both pro and amateur, so it wouldn't be too hard to figure out average speeds.

Jono should know
