They sure do blow up shit. One of my favorite myths is the one of the manhole cover in space which was propelled to above escape velocity during and accident at the Nevada nuclear test site. This happened the year before Sputnik, so technically, and if true, it would make a slightly radioactive and warped manhole cover the first man-made object in space (it is supposedly near Pluto by now). Wouldn't it be awesome to have the Mythbusters check that one out?

you should mention it in their forum - they do use quite a few fan submitted myths. And that one would be great to see.

I kind of doubt they would do it, since, you know, it requires an actual nuclear explosion gone awry. This might just be one or two levels above their heads.
