They sure do blow up shit. One of my favorite myths is the one of the manhole cover in space which was propelled to above escape velocity during and accident at the Nevada nuclear test site. This happened the year before Sputnik, so technically, and if true, it would make a slightly radioactive and warped manhole cover the first man-made object in space (it is supposedly near Pluto by now). Wouldn't it be awesome to have the Mythbusters check that one out? |
