I love people who rant and whine, it is generally because they are not and were never good enough.
This thread has no place in the Grand Tours section of the board. |

As for De Canio not being good enough, a second at 21 at the Tour de Beauce is a very good result. Also, he was the top finisher at the U23 worlds for the US, so arguably he was one of the best American riders of his generation.

Right now, the GT section of the board is the only one where the rampant spam is being cleaned (thanks to Lim). All the other sections are damn near unuseable. So deal with it. |

so, about a year younger than Danny Pate or the same age. Pate won the world tt in the espoirs, admittedly, there are about 40 odd Div 1 pros who are not eligible to ride in the u23 worlds. But look at Pate, must be elite of the elite, wrt natural engine. Did not dope. Where did he get to? Mediocre US career. Now Protour, but is not likely to make a roster for a GT unless there is a TTT. |

Seems more like he's obsessed with himself. Saying that Lemond can't hire him because of his bike line and Armstrong's pressure... Lemond has given Armstrong plenty of reasons to not like him, hiring Decanio is way down the list. He's right about the dope, of course. A pity the message is getting lost in this 'the whole world revolves around me' presentation. |

I just read on his site that he went to Appalachian St. I knew there was a reason I liked the guy. I graduated in '90, and he obviously is good people.
