I am curious, but your view is well founded.

Of course, should the Italian magistrates become involved, then things change completely.

I just snarfed this translation of Torri off of DP. It doesn't look like he will be looking into soccer.

....Torri then spoke about soccer & doping: “The doping in soccer is a phenomenon that is diminishing remarkably. Soccer is a particular world, it is the sport with the greatest number of controls, in all the games four athletes are controlled, and there are an extremely low number of cases. The athletes have understood that it is not worth resorting to forbidden substances, I hope that it is only that because if we put in doubt the regularity of the controls and all that derives from them the whole system will collapse. The analyses, I do not take care of the tests personally. they are carried out through doctors, technicians and civil employees who ensure the proper procedures. It seems to me that it can be said that in soccer the phenomenon of the doping is diminishing remarkably”.

Ahh... good to see that cycling remains the only problem sport.

No, simply a realist who has no stomach for the kind of political/mediatic assasination that would occur if he were to touch soccer here in my country.

Remember, cyclists who do not pass their drug tests are doping, soccer players who do not (or simply forget to submit their urine for an exam) are simply non-positive.

From AFP newsfeed
MADRID, Jan 15, 2008 (AFP) - French newspaper Le Monde and one
of its journalists were handed a court order here on Tuesday to pay
300,000 euros in damages to Barcelona football club after the paper
published a defamatory article on alleged doping practices at the
Catalan club.
Le Monde and journalist Stephane Mandard have also been ordered
to publish the court's decision in both the newspaper and its
internet site, Barcelona football club added, saying Le Monde has
also been told to correct the information in the way demanded by
Barcelona football club in December 2006.
Barcelona sued the newspaper in December 2006 for having claimed
there was a link between the club and Dr Eufemiano Fuentes, who
was at the centre of a blood-doping network which scandalised the
world of professional cycling.
In the December 8 2006 edition of Le Monde, the newspaper said
that, apart from cycling, there were also four Spanish football
clubs linked with Fuentes, including both Barcelona and Real Madrid.
The clubs fiercely denied the accusations and Real Madrid also sued
Le Monde.

Yes, the problem is not football doping but the role of Spanish to hide it.... Some revelations could destroy their governement!

Ok, the Spanish have taken the traditional position of 'our guys can do no wrong'. But make the Government fall over Puerto?

A lot of OP stuff has disappeared along the days. Where are the around 200 blood bags? Who has hidden the athletes' names of other sport? Apparently , it's not the Guardia Civil .
