Italian sources say FC Barcelona, Real Madrid and Juventus Turin are involved in Puerto. Le Monde lost their court case against FC barcelona after the court of barcelona rejected tapes of the interviews with Fuentes and the hand written doping schedules as evidence! Lemonde says they will appeal and if necesarry go to the European court in Straßbourg. Italian sources also say that tennis players are involved in Puerto.

I predict this will go no further than noise and a few vague references in overall media coverage. Cycling is the "Sacrifical Lamb" of the decade.
Of course who am I to know w?at is happening in the world of sports.

CH: All is well here and I have good skiing conditions and this and the trainer will do until I get good road conditions again . How about you?

W?at?,I kinda like that butheration. I may use that again.

Yes it is but... the Italians punished Juventus Turin before (the bet scandal)... W'll will have to wait and see what they will do.

Weather here: no snow, but stormy and rain.... So the trainer has to do the job again. Yes I am still the one who has to pedal (but not now, the wine is great )

Yes, true, but that went down well with everyone in Europe... Italian cheaters... but to involve Barca and Real in an Italian organised investigation would be tantamount to a declaration of war. And note the Spanish track record on digging into OP when it involves Spanish teams/sports personalities/etc.

I do not believe it will go beyond noise. No major European sports paper will pick this up and run with it. Remember, cheaters and dopers are only in cycling and athletics. Football is pure.

Cold but beautiful riding weather here...

Allan Davis about Puerto: "I feel as if I was with the wrong team at the wrong time."

So CH, what do you think about this case? Does the UCI have a hand in this one or not? Also, I am interested in people's opinion on whether Contador could have gotten a contract if Bruyneel had not set up camp at Astana.

Contador: good question. All others (except for the Caisse riders) had to sign with continental teams....

Why DiLuca gets only 3 months and Mazzoleni gets 2 years??? They are both deeply involved with the case..

Mazzoleni was named Eddy by his father in honour of cycling legend Eddy Merckx but he never showed the same natural talent of the 'cannibal'. During his 11-year career he won three races and also finished 13th in the 2005 Tour de France but was more famous for his girlfriend Elisa Basso, the sister of Ivan Basso, the rider who is currently serving a ban for his involvement in Operacion Puerto.
