all the races we did in ITaly never went longer than 110k and cos they were so fast compared to aus races they were always over in under 3 hours so it felt really short..
That would be the drugs ? or the closed roads in Italy ?

but I think the young Australians did pretty well and had the lead jersey til milram and lampre u18 squads turned the screw.

Not to say we are clean and they dope, because essectially, we are all the same, just that the u18 from Australia yet to be exposed to it. Then they gotta make the choice.

Cause AIS riders are squeaky clean? Or just Australian juniors?

Ok probably also the Italian teams ride like a team and the aussies not ? or know how to race more as a team or against other teams……

guys like Jamieson and Olman were just as dominant, but they seem to have stagnated.

I think it is tougher to make that jump, like Goss and Sutton have with aplomb.

Be interesting to see how Clarke and Sulzberger go. I think S Clarke is stronger than W Sulzberger, but it might just be pot luck with respect to the opportunities that they get in the pro teams. A team like Skil Shimano would be good for Sulzberger and Clarke to go to in their first two years, or perhaps one of the French teams. They do not want to be on the C squad in their second year at an Italian team, as that is was happened to Brad Davidson. Never had a program to ride, had no idea what he was doing, and Sanders was doing his training with no idea to his race program.

That was Saeco too. Very unprofessional. All they care about is their top 5 riders who will get results. That is why one more year riding for SA AIS is not a bad thing. But they need to get in some stronger races, more selective professional races against Lampre or Liquigas this year.

Not really, except in TT's and pursuit. Strong, tough, but no top end speed on the track.

Hushovd, Greipel, Boonen and Steels say he will.

Boonen and Steels jnr 1km and senior 1km trackies.

As a cycling fan who tends to the ignorant side, I was wondering where on earth Meyer had come from.

This thread has been bloody fascinating. Thanks all.
