Default Foreign Forum Follies

I ventured over to thepaceline. It's like the twilight zone over there, or maybe a gay wank site for fans of Disco. Check out the avatars below.

From thepaceline:

Folks, I just do not get a good feeling from the Prudhomme interview, somewhere somehow it smells: This continual harping on about the old Astana and how it damaged the last tour, this inability to grasp that the new Astana is just that, completely new: somehow he is trying to undermine JB you can just smell it. There is definately a conspiracy going on............Also the talks with the slipstream mob................it stinks. For me there is no doubt that the great JB and LA period has left it`s mark, and Prudhomme and co,. deeply resent it.

I found this XXFunny. Sold out of all the XXL. Who would have guessed.

Hi folks:
I am looking for a 2007 team-issue (with the inside radio pocket) short-sleeve jersey in size XXL. I got in to the Paceline Store after they were already sold out of them, and I was wondering if someone out there has slimmed down since they purchased theirs and would like to sell it. Feel free to email me through here. Thanks.

He/she was right about this: For me there is no doubt that the great JB and LA period has left it's mark, and Prudhomme and co,. deeply resent it.

They resent all the doping that went on. But you have to admit, Prudhomme et al loved lance early on when he was boasting their ratings. They only soured on him after everyone else did.

"Good point. Perhaps so many others cheated because they knew they couldn't beat him when they were clean. Ullrich would be left off this list, as he apparently was doping before Armstrong began his winning streak.

Everyone with even a slight grip on reality knows that doping is rampant in cycling, as in many other sports. Where the slope gets slippery, is when you begin to lump all the participants together due to the indiscretions of a few. Every individual should be given the benefit of the doubt, until such time as they are proven guilty. Retesting of 7+ year-old urine specimins that have passed through multiple hands is not proof of guilt. "

This is one of my personal favorites from bikeforums. Did you guys realize that everyone started doping because Lance was so great....well, except for Ulrich. WOW, what an AMAZING insight!

What is even more insightful is that retesting a 7+ year old sample is not proof of guilt. These guys are awesome spin doctors, and indeed have a great grip on reality.

A howler from TPL:

This team has had detractors since the beginning. Why? I'm only guessing but it's been run like a business, driven to win, strategic planning/thinking in races, always riding the races as a team and not as individuals. And outstanding team support from the entire staff during races. Taking care of the riders. And yes - doing it clean. Perhaps some of the pro-tour and continental teams could learn from this great organization rather than wasting energy bashing it?

There are reasons this team has been so successful. Open your eyes and ears and learn from the best.

LOL thanks! I needed the laugh. They forgot to add the bit about Lance training (when no one else did) and using lighter gears. Those are the two real secrets to winning all the tours up against a bunch of nasty doped-up Euro riders.

oh, and he was the only one with the secret to go to the Canarys and sleep at altitude to boost his hematocrit from 42 to 49.

So he told Larry King live.
