I think that's unfair on oncearunner: he has changed his views as time has gone on and more dominoes fall. I don't pretend to understand all of his posts, but I don't regard him as a doping apologist.

Hombre hates doping (and Rabobank); but he is just unable to countenance certain teams or riders as dopers. It's not apologism, which must be in some way conscious, it's just a pair of blinkers.

As for the others... let's just say I have a different view from them.

If you really want to see a doping apologist, try searching goldenear's posts. He is/was a recreational steroid user/bodybuilder type, and cheerfully recommended them. Caused a bit of a stir.

Campybob (a member of CF, I think) is one who has said something along the lines of, 'I don't care if they dope, let 'em if they want to.' He normally just tries to make fun of people who argue against 'doperz' (or WADA), and can be quite funny:

quirk of the DP forum software - if someone else *reads* your original post before you post the next one, they should show up separately. It's only if you post in rapid succession, before anyone else has a chance to read anything, where some computer programmer probably figured "oh, you must have meant to put all of that into one post, we'll combine that for you" even though it ends up being annoying.

message = wait a minute or two before your 2nd post if you can last that long

And we have the allies here at CF against doping. Hey, we could have a new axis and allies game.

Somebody should post this quote from cyclingnews to the paceline.

He shows a strong personality when he talks about his sport. He doesn't have any good word to say about the presence of his supposed-to-be idol Lance Armstrong at the Tour of Korea last year. "He disappointed me," Park said. "He was always late at interviews, he showed up on a mountain bike at a criterium with shorts, a t-shirt and normal shoes. We couldn't get a chance to talk to him, but he received a lot of appearance money. That's not what Korean cycling needed."

What a selfish prick. That is the classic... "I want to make sure everyone knows I didn't come here to compete". Problem is... in protecting your own face... you effectively give the middle finger to everybody.

Lance...please make it apparent to those that are offering to pay you the fee that you are only turning up to wave to the crowd a bit and coast around in a t-shirt and running shoes. Please don't mislead them for the big fee, thinking that you can screw them a bit knowing you'll never be back again to have to worry about charging them for another appearance.

We could do with better ambassadors of the sport. Unfortunately, sport selects the guy who can get to the finish line first by whatever means. Whether they are dickheads or not is just pot luck.

Post edit - Mind you, the reason he did turn up in non-competition mode was because he knew there were going to be twenty Parks there, all wanting to beat him when he wasn't even trying and acting like they knocked out the World Champ.

Vader posted a link to the article. Surprisingly, there is not much comment on the Korean cycling scene.

Not surprising given his egomaniacal behavior recently (especially the recent bar incident). I know other individuals who are respected in the community, but show themselves to be first order a-holes when invited (along with the mandatory huge monetary charges) to address the community.

I see that. Zero replies.

Lots of replies to Astana not getting an invite to MSR and TA.

Good old Arielena:

Well, they can't say now our Giro non-invite was because we weren't going to send anyone serious about winning. There go those noses. They keep growing everyday. Do these people know what idiots they look like to the cycling world?

I'm going through a proxy. I don't know if I can muster the subtlety like some people around here.

A couple of them have been admiring Vader's Last Days of Disco signature. They don't see the irony.
