Yeah, I like his "3 strikes and I'll ignore you" threat. But it's still kind of weird to see actual debate (or at least argument) taking place on that fansite, with no immediate "bans."

Holy shit those guys are dumb. I'm never going back again. I'm starting to think that Saluki or No Positives might be that D'Artogen guy. What a freakin moron.

Hey, Het Volk is this weekend.

I liked it when that other bloke came over here to stir the pot. It wasn't the usual rider who was being debated. Good, spirited stuff.

Smart money has to be on Boonen. However, he doesn't seem as invincible this year as he has in the past. DeVolder could be formidable if he ever learns to contain his aggression a bit and waits to make the right move.

Devolder is injured:http://www.cyclingnews.com/news.php...feb08/feb26news. That must count against him.

Boonen also has a less than ideal preparation, flying in not long before--I thought I had read [Cycling Weekly? Not sure; server is down] that he was doing a press conference instead of riding the route [edit: in advance].

I'll say Eeckhout to win, since I have no idea.

Edit: the link should be here, but I still can't check it.

Okay, I came across this post from a DP moderator (who has photos of Diluca in his sig). It was posted last October, the FIRST time Diluca was suspended:

"If most of you here would turn that self-proclaimed holiness that you chose to examine cyclists with inward, I am sure you would find an entire host of things you would not want plastered in the press, much less have strangers exam and formulate some nitwit judgement about you.

Cycling is a sport that I love, and I am watching it disappear as time and again it is chosen as the whipping boy for the media all because those central to its operation cannot seem to understand that its doping problems can be resolved without crucifying the athletes along its path to destruction.

Attack me with your insults if you will, attack Di Luca with your conjecture and pious speeches, as for me, I love the sport, and to hell with rest."

This from a moderator no less.

Well, s/he is entitled to her/his opinion on the matter. There is a fraction of population who don't care if the cyclists are doped, and just want to enjoy the races (Saluki for example). But if s/he starts moderating posts based on her/his opinion rather than being allowing a free debate on the subject, that is a different matter.

I got banned over at the Paceline again, 2 days after I decided to stop posting. (lurking was still in full effect, but posting had ended.) What a bunch of weak minded hero worshipers. I wonder if they saw some of my photos/quotes on No_Positives thread? I think the one about Lance dating his mom may have done the trick this time.

I told myself that if I lurk I am not going to post.

I did manage to stay silent from August 2007 until February 2008.

Since the Huns over there treat all argumentative posts as CF Trolls, I received private messages from a few of them, asking me to leave and enjoy CF instead. I figured it was not worth responding to.

Gee, hang out with people truly knowledgeable about a sport who use logic (and some cynicism) versus people who just want to ride on the feel good express and pretend their heroes are pure superheroes and not regular human beings who can make mistakes?

Guess I'm here!

You mean the dumbasses in The Cult are trolling in other forums, and banning members for posts made in other forums? Wow, that must be a new low...

I wonder who they're going to follow when Astana dissolve and Bruyneel can't get a job?

Probably doesn't matter. It seems that the thing they worship is less important than worship itself.
