Too many forums, too many pies and too much coaching. I do have a pretty high anaerobic capacity which is good for my 3000m pursuit event. But get sick often. Do using PCs cure that? good luck on the rebound trail! PC's cure just about everything - they were invented by an M.D. after all ![]()

If I had to accelerate a gut the size of a blue whale to neigh on 30mph I'd have a pretty high anaerobic capacity too. No, but PC's will give you a healthy dose of pain that will remind you for days to lay off the pies and beer. Initially they almost make sitting in your average computer chair a none-to-pleasant prospect too, so that'll solve the forums "problem" for a short while.... Ironically, I actually haven't been sick or suffered from back or ITB pain since buying my PC's..... The former is probably just luck, the latter was what I was hoping to get from the PC's. I got what I paid for... and then some. YMMV. When I was 100kg I decided with a couple of weeks of "training" (I washed the bike twice and rode up a local hill of about 150ft in height after 10 years off the bike) to scrounge a ticket for the Deathride - 129miles, 16,000ft of climbing over 5 mountain passes that peak at ~8,500ft. I decided that in order to avoid having to carry a flashing yellow light on my helmet and a red flag outa my ass (wide and long load) I'd stay on the trainer for a while and then do an event on closed roads. 79Kg is a much happier place to be - but given that my "cycling brain" still thinks that I'm 65Kg there's some "acceptance issues" that will never seemingly be resolved...... Well at least if anyone in this thread was silly enough to own PCs they would have the best tool to measure any regression. If I wanted to break my legs in training I would head to the gym. Not going to make me a better rider though.

But by your very own "reasoning" in previous threads, PC's don't offer any improvements, so why have something to measure nothing? |

I probably have the lowest FTP of anyone here.
140w.....60kg......2.3w/kg In my defense, I cracked my heel in February and just got back on the bike AND this is my first season of real training. I do have to say though, my FTP is beyond sad, even for someone just starting out. Let's hope I have some potential somewhere burried within me. James |

James, I am pretty far down the list but the cool thing is that I can track my progress over the season. If I can come through our winter in good nick and then work on bring the weight down then FTP and power to weight will improve. Yours will too!
