Default doped teams threaten organizers !

From AFP (machine translation)
Nine formations (Quick Step, Lampre, Saunier Duval, Liquigas, Milram, Rabobank, High Road, Astana and CSC) have requested an immediate meeting Thursday with the organisers of the three major cycling tours (Italy, France, Spain) following non - select several of them for the Giro. A request tinged with threats of boycott, which emerge implicitly a joint statement: "We understand of course the willingness of the organizers to avoid the presence of teams that could harm the image of sport, but we do not wish in a situation where we would be forced to exert pressure by asking to be invited as a package, or if any team will participate. " (With AFP)

Interesting that threat. But then again, the ASOs and RCSs would probably have a much more exciting Tour and/or Giro inviting continental teams to race with their riders racing for a 'place in the sun'.

As an organiser I would call their bluff.

It will be interesting to see how things develop. On the one hand, UCI is threatening ASO. On top of that, teams are threatening to gang up against ASO, although this threat probably has more bark than bite to it. If ASO stands up for itself, that will be a huge blow for UCI's influence over the GTs.

ASO has tarnished the winners of the TDF to the point that I hope their race dies. They simply cannot stand someone who isn't French to win in the first place, and in the second, they spit on you when you do win. Not only that, but I believe they will resort to any means necessary to discredit non-French winners. Doping probably happens by those who don't get caught, but I don't believe it was ever as widespread as they suggest, and now they try to sully the reputation of managers and riders who have never tested positive? Maybe they should open it to French Jr teams only?

Look at this, the 'bad apples' all line up. How little they realise the sword of Damocles hangs dangerously above them!

Also quite fascinating that the Mouvement pour un cyclisme crédible MPCC are not part of this threatened boycott. The MPCC is the following teams:
AG2R Prévoyance, Agritubel, Bouygues Télécom, Cofidis, Crédit Agricole, Française des Jeux and Gerolsteiner.

Stick to your guns ASO and dump the bad seeds starting with public enenmy no.1 Astana

how can Gerolsteiner be part of the MPCC?

Hhahahahha, it is a little like "the Patriot Act", very Stalin like, in naming programs that have zero or contradictory principles.

They hate Americans, face the fact man. Not only that, but they hate the British, Germans, Italians, Spaniards, Japanese, Australians. The list is long, and the wine isn't really as great as they say.

Don't even start in on that one Frenchie, you live in the laziest most politically unorganized industrialized (though what you produce is crap) country in the world. You have some sense in electing Sarkozy, but it is only a matter of time until you get some socialist nitwit back in power, and continue your weak cheese eating surrender monkey ways.
