If any cycling "big names" gave monetary support to Vaughn, then Vaughn likely wouldn't need to have calls for donations occasionally on the forum, and mentions of how to sponsor the DP or place an ad at the bottom of every race report - I've always had the impression he was barely hanging on with regards to the DP site monetarily...
