I just got it at Decathlon. I'm not used to going there, much better than GoSport, the mechanic even explained to me how it works in every detail. The bike salesman was really funny, he was trying to explain to some clueless woman why you might want bike shorts on a long ride, he said that wearing the wrong set of pants would be like putting fur on your steering wheel. Oh, and I also bought some walking shoes. I'll try it out on a ride tomorrow, but it seems that the problem is that it could fall off if you drop your chain, which is maybe why they give you a 2nd set. I put it in my saddle pack just in case.... Thanks again! Now I have to go back to the original bike shops which told me I should never switch chains when changing cassettes. -ilan |

I was amazed, they even have a climbing section with actual decent climbing shoes. As I said, unlike GoSport, the salespeople actually know what they are talking about. -ilan |

I've been in there. I sorta like DKT because even though the salespeople ignore me I can see it's because they're actually busy. When I go into a bike shop they ignore me but usually because they're talking on a cell phone or being yelled at by the owner or something. At least at DKT they don't actively dispense bad info. I figure no info is better than bad info. |

As long as you don't let the chain wear out so much that it starts wearing out the cassette as well (replace early and often, for the definite answer(s) on how early and how often you can ask in r.b.tech...), you can use the same chain with both cassettes just fine. By the way, anybody keeping score of chain failures on the pro circuit by model? I think David Millar's famous projectile had a standard Dura-Ace (7801) chain. |

Yeah. Thought, and this is unrelated to cassettes I think, I did once see video of a mechanic on the Collstrop team change a races chain in the middle of the race. He used those plier-type chain tools and was really fast! >By the way, anybody keeping score of chain failures on the pro circuit >by model? I think David Millar's famous projectile had a standard >Dura-Ace (7801) chain. That would be interesting, but really hard to do. I think on rapidly worn out parts such as chains, there is a lot of mixing of brands/models even on teams with good sponsorship. |
