...actyally taking into account PPete's comment and the fact that he had his left arm bent and looked to be in pain crossing the line, maybe the polkadot is gone from his chances.

Yes. I would expect to see some Soler inspired fireworks in the mountain stages - he will probably not be a threat in GC (I bet he will lose more time before they hi the mountains) and will focus on getting stage wins and the polka dot jersey.

Yea, he blew up pretty spectacularly last year. He is riding "like a man posessed" as some half-wits would say....man listening to Eurosport is better..

Unless he broke his arm...

BTW, does anybody know why Dekker wasn't chosen in the Rabobank squad?

He might be able to keep the yellow shirt for the first three stages if they can bunch finish the next two stages.

Not sure what's going on at www.letour.fr, they've given the top 88 the same time. And, Soler is only 3 seconds down. This obviously needs adjustment.

Rabobank and Dekker are getting it on, coz they don't get along.

Okay thumper... I lost the bet... but all four of my picks came in the top 25... and your main pick... Steegmans... placed 86th <snicker> compared to mine coming 8th.

But I'm the loser. So do we keep a tally throughout the race? Or do you want your 50 Lire now?...

Stage 15 ends in Italy? When Piti is in yellow in Prato Nevoso, might be interesting to see whether he's still in yellow in Cuneo.

What was Saunier Duval doing with Ricco in the middle of the bunch with only 2km to go?? No wonder he managed only 5th place, he has no chance to go for victory with this shitty team. Valverve was great but he would have had hard time with Ricco..

Fark. Piti in yellow. The one guy in the race that I am certain is dirty.

Interesting seeing some other people with GC ambitions - like Evans, Riccò and Schleck right up there at the end. Good signs for the rest of the Tour.

Too bad about Soler, who came in something like 3.5 minutes down. Apparently he is quite badly beaten up.

And he almost ran straight into the barricades trying to chase back after the crash- I guess he had his head down and didn't see the turn.

or else, wasn't able to properly turn at high speeds with one wrist sprained and the other potentially broken, according to some reports.
