Rudy Joubert the next South African Coach ?
It appears that he has been asked to apply for the job, at the moment he coaches Welsh Club Rugby's biggest team (cardiff) and to be honest, with the money and resources that Cardiff have, I don't think he's doing a very good job. But what do I know someone in S.A. wants him back. |

That just emphasises the predicament that SA rugby is in at the moment. No one really wants the job. They all know that once you are appointed as the national coach, it's only a matter of time before your days are numbered. There is no pride and no glory anymore, only shame and ridicule.
I remember years ago how a test defeat was considered a national tragedy, especially against any of the top five test nations. SA supporters expected the team to win, no ifs or buts. When the team lost a game, everyone used to be down. IMO all that changed after 1995, when SA won the World Cup. Nowadays, the general attitude is: 'Ah well, hopefully they can pull this one off' or 'if they win, it will be luck'.

? Vo2 I've never heard of him, is he a super twelve coach ? Since my last post on this thread, my local team has played in another Cup, and in the Quarter-Final we have a home draw against the bottom club in the league, so I don't really want to count my chickens before they hatch, but it looks like we have a good chance to make it into the Semi-finals of another competion. Just a side thought my mates know the weather has taken a turn for the better, because I now refuse to drink when we go to the rugby (which partly defeats the object of going )There's nothing worse than waking up the next day with a hangover and seeing a rain free sky and thinking that I should be out on my bike instead of nursing a headache ![]() |

Okay I got it wrong but not by much, My wish for France to win came true and Wales finished below Scotland (where we belong if the truth be said). The silver lining is my local team are now sixth in the league, and for my sins I've got to watch them play a semi-final in the Millenium Stadium next saturday. |

At least I've got some reason to smile this week with the Sharks back in the Stadium and winning again- I just hope that we can keep it up from here on. Pothole- the cricket has started- better get back to church and start praying again!!! :-[ One of the ladies in our office came up with a good one the other day- What's the best thing for the Proteas when it comes to ODI's? : ![]() WE CANT LOOSE BY AN INNINGS! ;D ;D ;D |

So long as they take it easy on us I don't care, but that hammering the Boks gave us a few years ago was really embarrassing. Maybe it was the thought of facing the Boks again this summer that finally made Rob Howley hang up his international boots last saturday, because despite the fact that he's been around a few years I personally think he's still the best scrum-half in the UK. Just as a matter of interest back in 98 my local team played two SA teams, Northen Transvaal (who we beat) and Gauteng Falcons ( who we narrowly lost to), so can anybody tellhow they are doing now or even if they are still around ? |

Laz, Northern Transvaal aka the Blue Bulls, so you get zero points for beating them. Currently, I think that even if they played against themselves they'll lose! ;D
The Falcons are still around, but are not part of the Super 8. Now you might be wondering if that should'nt be reading Super 12? Well, NO, 'coz it's the Super 8 and the 4 South African teams. ;D :-[

Shows you, miracles still happens. Was very suprised to see the cricket on tv. I was cycling home at 18h00 last night in the rain (Northern Sub's of Cape Town). And it rain like hell.
Suddenly the SA Cricketers get some scores on the board. And we still stick to Telemachus as a bowler. And his fielding counts for nothing. My grandmother is a better fielder. Not only catching but the speed to pick up a ball and throwing in to the keeper. I would like to see Charl Willurby in the team. I think he is a lefthand bowler as well. And faster as the 133km/h of Telemachus |

We Won[/siz]
I just had to bring this thread back to life because I need to tell the World the news though they should already know ![]() The Boys done the Business on Saturday and despite being the underdogs won the Cup Final .It was awesome day and as a result I was in no state to go for a ride on Sunday which was a pity because it was a beautiful day to go riding (warm, not a breath of wind, slighly overcast) but if thats the price I have to pay for my local team to win some Silverware so be it |
