How can it be ?

Statistics.

time = 3.5 hours
miles = 24
avg speed = 6.8mph !!!
Punctures = 3
temp = a few degrees above freezing
weather = rain except when higher up the mountain which meant I was in the cloud.

Result

Pure joy.

Only major problem was when at the top of the mountain in the clouds I had a puncture again ! not sure if you can repair punctures in the clouds so I proceeded to ride down the mountain with a flat and as you can guess it didn't do the tube any favours.

Ric are you there ? at one point I tried to cycle up to that round building that overlooks Llantrisant but couldn't do it, so I had to push the thing up there. Is there anyway to cycle up there ? also tried to cycle up that steep cobbled street but it was way to wet to get any grip.

The bike needed some loving care when it got home but she deserved it, so I treated her to some new brake blocks today as a reward ;D

Hey I enjoyed that.

How about a "How was your ride " thread.

If you have a puncture and you have no spare or glue you can still fix it to go on. Find the leak and make a knot so that the leak is in the smal part. You now have a innertube which is a little smaler(is easy to stretch it) but you can put it on the wheel inflate it and ride home. Similar trick for tubulars put tape/ a cloth firmly around the rim and tube a the place of the leak, when you inflate it rapidly the cloth tap will block the hole it looks funny it rides funny but you get home faster than walking and with no damage to the rim.

If you really mess up inner or outher tube fill the outher tube up with grass its good enough to get you home.

It works!!! :)
