Hi, I'm in the process of planning a charity cycle ride from Rome to Paris next June. There should be around 7 riders and two support people in a support van.

I would be grateful of any help that you could give me especially in the areas of:-

General Routes - currently put Rome and Paris in Autoroute and found the shortest distance not using any major roads.

Hotels on route - preferably like Travellodges that we can pre-book in U.K.

Thanks for your help.

Andy.

Hi!
I've done a ride from Paris to Rome. It took 4 weeks with a few days off, averaging 65 mile days. It was nothing short of amazing and beautiful and perfect. Would you be interested in knowing the route? I'm sure you could take it backwards.. :) Happy cycling, ELizabeth

Thanks for the reply,

Ideas have changed since the original post - see my post in the Touring Ireland section. However I would still like to know your route for possible rides in the coming years. How did you find it? Ideally, we wouldn't want to take more than 2 weeks - do you think it could still be done?

Regards,

Andy.

Hi,

Myself and my wife are also doing a charity bike ride this year, 2013: 'Home 2 Rome' (from Leicestershire). We are after some advice on routes through France and Italy, in particular the best routes through the French Alps. We will be making a stop in Pithiviers in France as our town is twinned with this town, and then looking at possibly heading towards Torino to then head to the west coast of Italy, and follow the coast all the way to Rome. This is still quite sketchy so any advice on roads to avoid, ideal routes etc would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Richard
