Ah, the old shoelace around the pedal axle thread resurrected :)

Anyway, all I have to say is I recommend getting some sort of lace free
system- I've not had any problems since using the Salomon fastening
system. Basically they're a type of Kevlar pull up thingee that fastens
your shoe quickly and cleanly without long dangly bits hanging off. You
can buy similar laces (?Speedlaces?) which can be fitted to your regular
shoe. There's no way I'm going to spin high revs on a Coker with
shoelaces, even with them tucked in.
