review - PRO, The Movie

I finally finished watching this documentary film today. I am very
psyched.

It's well worth possessing this for bike racing fans. I bought mine via
dailypeloton.com but ErikSaunders.com also sells it.

I was surprised the amount of air time Mike Sayers got as well as Erik
Saunders. However those guys were a few of the strongest guys as
USPRO/Philly 2004, the heart and soul of this movie.

Jaimie Paolinetti (director and writer) also features Chris Horner,
Fred Rodriguez, Bobby Julich, Jonas Carney and also bits from YMC Mike
Creed, Henk Vogels, Gord Fraser, and Mark McCormack (USPRO champ 2003).
I can't forget Tim Johnson. John Lieswyn is one tough SOB at the end
of the race among others. The film is narrated by someone named Simmons
whom I don't recognize but his deep voice adds lots of drama - his
monotone style gets a bit weary.

It's chock full of racing action and lots of explanations of racing
terms and tactics with emphasis on teamwork. It illustrates the
toughness of the Manyuk Wall (I was surprised to see so relatively few
fans hanging out there -- the large SF Fillmore crowds spoil me).

The film is just a couple minutes short of two full hours. It's a
well edited DVD with a super minimalist approach. -- nothing fancy just
lots of interviews and plenty of racing action.

Well done!! Buy this for a Xmas gift for yourself or to the race
cycling fiend on your list.

Lot's of stuff cut from k.papai post.
Did anyone find that the audio track had very uneven volume levels? There
were some portions where I had to turn the TV volume all the way up to even
barely hear anything. I'm wondering if this is part of the production, just
my DVD or equipment problems on my end.

thanks,
jb
