Pile/pertex - smock or jacket

Hello.

I am new to the pile/pertex system of clothing, but after some
research I have decided to give it a go. We don't have these clothes
in Norway, though, so I have to order online without the opportunity
to look at the clothes first. So I have a few questions.

First, I have (almost) decided for a Mardale Alpine Pile System jacket
or pullover and Alpine Performance Lite Salopette:

http://www.mardale.com/alpine_perf.html
since they are said to be less warm than the Buffalo gear, and offer
nice venting options. My use will be mountain skiing (up and down) in
Norwegian winter conditions, typically +5 to -15C. I intend to follow
the original concept of not wearing anything underneath (except boxer
shorts).

1. Does anyone have any viewpoints on pullover versus jacket? I am
inclined to believe that although a jacket theoretically can give
better ventilation, having airflow directly on the chest may be
uncomfortable (particularly when moving at speed) and that a smock
with side zips and mesh front pocket may be better in practice.

2. Are there other brands I should consider than Buffalo, Mardale and
Montane? I am not interested in anything hotter than the Mardale
brand.

3. Any opinion on the www.outdoorclothingonline.com online store?
Recommended? Others I should use instead?

Thanks for any advice.
