Block training...your experience

What was been you experience with "block training"...

I am thinking of doing 2-3 lactate threshold days in a row followed by 2 days of recovery riding for 45 minutes at a heart rate below endurance intensity to facilitate recovery and supercompensation.

Some think that this type of training is the best way to boost power output at lactate threshold....some use it to train other energy systems too, like the VO2 max system and aerobic system.

Exactly how do you do your block training?
