It's only Usenet, no one dies.
My opinions, not the committee's, mine.

My thumsticks are wood, I cut them myself, and cost me nothing.
I will ignore the considerable amounts of time needed to carve them.

Aldi have some on 14 April GBP7.99.

No excuse!

I have 2 Aldi poles from the last time they had them. I think they're
good. Well, good enough for the small amount of use I give them and
at least as good as the 25 quid a pole ones which broke.

I'm perfectly happy with mine as well, and I use mine a lot.

If you can keep your head when all around are losing theirs...
then you've failed to grasp some important aspect of the
situation.

I paid £7.99 for a pair at Netto last week. They are ok, and slightly
lighter than my rambler pole. Plus the anti-shock can be turned off which I
don't think I can on the near £30 Rambler (though the anti-shock is better
on the rambler if you prefer more give).

Not really sure what's cheap these days as I haven't been looking, but I got
me a pair for around twenty quid from Joe Brown's in Capel Curig a few years
back. Just had a quick look at their website (www.joebrownsnowdonia.co.uk)
and it's £22 for a pair + £3.50 P+P.
