Recovery Days - 2 hours too much?

Just wondering people's thoughts on recovery days and how much time I can put on the road for those days. On my training days I am doing anywhere from 4-7 hours per day approx 5 days per week. Given the those times is a 2 hour recovery ride (no hills) twice per week okay or should I be cutting that back. I don't feel tired after those 2 hour rides, but I'm concerned over time I could wear myself out.

BTW....this riding is all on the road bike, but is used to train for 24 hour solo MTB racing, along with the occasional road race thrown in.

Thanks for the input!

Well, 20-35 hours/week would normally put you up there with typical cat1 training times, at which point you know your body better than we do! That said, my CTS coach makes the recovery days between 30 minutes to 1 hour of easy spinning. Two hours sounds long, but then I've never put in the hours you have, more like 10-12 hours/week. Of course the recovery in my schedule has more to do with intensity, since most of those hours include intervals or races; your situation sounds a bit different, but I suspect your body could still use the rest.
