Great Western 'Bent Rally

Hey again gang -

Okay, okay... yes, it really is the Great Western BICYCLE Rally, but of
the 2500 or so cyclists who attend, probably about 200 will be
recumbents, with some 20 or 30 of those trikes. This annual event is
held over Memorial Day Weekend (May 27-30) in the small town of Paso
Robles, on US-101 between Santa Barbara and San Francisco. Rather than
being a typical multi-day ride, it's a series of competitions, informal
rides and a lot of social intermingling such as Swap Meet, Concours and
cook-it-yourself BBQ. Most cyclists camp at the (Mid-State or San Luis
Obispo County) Fairgrounds, and the return rate for previous attendees
is pretty high; this will be about our 27th GWBR or so. Their website
is:

http://www.gwbr.org/

There will be a bunch of the folks from our local 'bent group, Ventura
County Recumbent Riders, and we're trying to get all the trikeys at
GWBR to get together for a parade lap late Sunday afternoon. Please
email me or give me a call if you'd like any info, or if there's any
way I can maybe help. Hope to see all you 'bent bums from SoCal there!

Maybe Dian and I will come up with the M5 if it isn't too hot.
