A big American flag, actually, and a California one, and a City of Oakland one too. Practically at eye level.

Part of my family is from Memphis, Tenn. Home to the Great Smoky Mountains, most picturesque portion of the Appalachian Mountains, in my opinion. Coming from a tree-hugger--me - that says alot

Downtown, corporate McLean-bricks & concrete, corporate juggernaught of Northern Virginia. All of the trees have been paved under to make way for corporate offices/malls/hotels. I'm sitting on top of what used to be a farm at Tysons Corner in a four story cookie-cutter apartment. I can see Bechtel's corporate office from my window. Heard of them?

Mr Bush will be here tommrow to discuss the polution in this area.
The most polluted national park in he world.
He and I do not see eye to eye on some of the issues with heavy industry and pollution but that is another subject for another thread.

If I wasn't going to University here, for Gov't & Politics, I would relocate to a more rural area. G.Mason University is one of the more affordable public institutions w/ a good Public Policy Dept. http://policy.gmu.edu/
