Seeing the old year out

It's been an evening of eating and drinking, a good way to
end the new year. We sat by the fire and had a few glasses
of a nice un-oaked Chardonnay that went very nicely with our
canapés. We had some crackers with cream cheese and red
pepper jelly and I had poached some jumbo tiger shrimp and
made up a dipping sauce with mayonnaise, curry powder,
garlic, lime zest and lime juice. Our main course was
grilled beef tenderloin steaks and asparagus, with a bottle
of Cote de Rhone. Dessert was a maple cottage pudding,
followed by a cup of espresso and a glass of Gran Marnier. I
didn't want to crack open a bottle of Champagne after all
that other wine, so we have some cute little bottles of
Troken Henkle to ring in the New Year.

Hope you are all having a great evening.

Happy New Year to you!
That sounded a perfect dinner to see out the old year. May you enjoy
many more to come.

Cheers
