Yes, that is him. Over 50 and still going strong. Not much else to say.

He's still a crybaby, too. From his RAAM profile:

Q: Considering all sports, what were the events or outcomes that most
impacted your life in both negative and positive manners?

A: Goodwood England World Championships when Greg Lemond cased me down
in the last kms with Guiseppi Saronni and the pack on his wheel to
catch me with 150meters to the finish... He said afterwards that he did
not care who won as long as it was not me....

I guess that was a more negative experience than being convicted of
being a child molester. Great perspective.

Maybe in your world child molesting is considered a sport, but not
mine. Killing child molesters should be.

Anyway, they didn't ask him about his entire life, just his sporting
life.

For 20 years I gave LemonD the benefit of the doubt about that until
LANCE was about to get his 4th TdF and LemonD started going off about
LANCE on drugs and the 4th virtual win and all that.

Now I believe The Child Molestor. LemonD can't deal with being
overshadowed by one of his countrymen.

Boyer can keep playing off the horseshit story that Lemond
chased him down for the same reason that Lemond can play
off the horseshit story that he wasn't allowed to win the
Tour in 1985. The cycling press in this country wasn't well
connected enough or didn't have the desire to relay the
real story.

If there's one thing that we ought to know it's that everyone should
forgive and forget LeMond for leading the chase down of Jock.
LeMond stated that he was just following Saronni but if so it was from
a funny position in front of Saronni.

IIRC, Lemond has always maintained that he was riding for himself that day.
Tough for Boyer but that's racing.
As for Boyer and RAAM, he talked a lot of trash about marathon cyclists the
year he won . Pete P. indirectly put him in his place by shattering Boyer's
record the following year on the same RAAM route with more streeful weather
conditions.

Show your post to any attorney whan called for jury duty and I guarantee you

So, Bob, what IS the real story?

Which story?

Lemond did not chase Boyer down at Worlds in 1982.
Hinault won the Tour in 1985 because he was better
than Lemond. Vietto was never a contender for the
Tour, his 'tragedy' was a creation of Goddet.

Google for the details.

You think child abuse is a sport? That's sick.

Perhaps LeMond tried to win the race and Saronni beat him in the end. I
would believe you if LeMond sat up after Boyer was caught. Why would he
use up all of his energy at the end just to chase Boyer. Of course he
chased him down, he had to get by him to win. With a bunch of
individuals wearing the stars and stripes, but no "team" that would be
expected.

I guess that Boyer had plenty of time in his jail cell to replay that
moment in his mind.

Good idea. They should be shocked and awed by that 4th virtual victory.

BTW, what do you think of Otto Jacome's "miracle" iron shot to LemonD
in the '89 Giro?

Otto did not give Lemond an iron shot during the Giro. It was administered
post-Giro by his father-in-law, a physician, after a blood test supposedly
indicated that he was anemic. There was much discussion at the time that an
iron shot would not have significantly helped with the anemia given the time
span from Giro to Tour. I think it more likely that the shot had a placebo
effect.

Your memory is faulty.

LemonD almost dropped out of the Giro, finishing in the grupetto in
some mountain stages. The story that *he* gave is that Jacome noticed
his skin was a funny color and gave him the shot. LemonD recovered. In
the final Giro stage, a time trial, LemonD finished second to that
Polish TT specialist Lech Piasecki.

I have some old mags of the '89 Tour - will have to look them up to see
if they have the "iron injection" story.

And perhaps Benjo can weigh in.

LeMond had his blood tested near the end of the Tour de Trump to see if that
might yield some clue to his disappointing performances. It revealed
nothing. He returned to Europe to prepare for the Tour of Italy, one of
cycling's most prestigious events after the Tour de France. There, too, he
faltered. In the first mountain stage LeMond lost eight minutes to the
leaders. His masseur, Otto Jacome, who has been a friend of the LeMond
family since Greg was 15, took one look at him afterward and said, "You are
white. You need iron."

Again LeMond had his blood tested. This time he was diagnosed as anemic, and
his *doctor* immediately gave him an injection of iron.

I have him on tape discussing his father-in-law's input.
