From some not very good pics.
The claim is that it's a 2001 R1000, but C'dale's website doesn't show this color anywhere for 2000 and up.

Any expert sharpeyes are MOST appreciated. Thanks,
Tom

This photo is of a 2000 R1000, given the forks are different and that Time produced these for Cannondale, I would say your bike is earlier than this example, I think later models would have the fork branded as "cannondale slice" as you can see in the second photo, but I can't be sure.

Thanks, Kleng, for the pics and the info. Most appreciated!

BTW, nice looking bike!! Do you still ride it?

Tom

That top left frame pic -- where it says "CAD (something)" will be your best hint. That will refer to the frame revision.

In Kleng's picture you'll notice that bike has a newer style of that decal on the seatstay, rather than it being on the top tube.

If I were to take a stab in the dark I would say it's a late 90s frame judging by the style of that CAD decal and that it has bosses for downtube levers. It is most definitely not a 2001 anything.

If you want to identify it the easy way, look up the serial number that's underneath the bottom bracket and email Cannondale; they'll be able to tell you exactly what it is.

I own a 1995 R500 it has a 3.0 frame. Your frame looks like the same frame this frame at the time had both down tube shifters and STI depending on model R500 and lower had down tube shifters and R600 and up had STI

as for the cad sticker. I have seen on ebay a few times these for sell. I dont think this frame is a cad or caad frame. Looks like a 3.0 fram from mid to late 90's

Do they list a componet list if this bike has 100 or 600 this will prove this time frame if the bike has 105 or urtaga then it will be newer

Thanks for the info, George. Most helpful.
I found this bike on Craigslist. The owner says it's got Ultegra and Dura Ace components. I've emailed him a few times, but haven't spoken with him in person yet. It's about an hour's drive from where I am, so I want to get as much info as I can first.

However, if he's claiming that it's a 2001, which it seems quite obvious now that it isn't, I don't know that I want to deal with somebody like that. :)

Thanks again,

Tom

Getting a good deal on a used bike doesn't require the seller to be completely up front, but rather that the buyer have the ability to accurately assess the condition and value of the goods in question. Regardless of whether the seller says it is a 2001 or not, it may still be a great deal at the right price. Maybe the seller is not the original owner and doesn't really have any idea of what year it really is.
