Do any of you know if a Dura Ace 10spd Rear Derailleur would work with a 9spd set up? I don't have the money to convert and I need a new der. however I don't want a used 9spd der.

Thanks in advance!

This begs the question --why not?

Derrailleurs do not see what is shifting them. It's the shifter that tells the Derrailleur how much to move.

I for example use a 9 speed DA derrailleur on a 10 speed DA drivetrain. Works perfect

The point is that all 9 speed and 10 speed Shimano derailleurs move the same amount for a given amount of cable travel.

Yes, I have a 10 speed Ultegra rear derailleur on the wife's 9 speed Ultegra drive train and it works great. The ultimate test of component compatibility is always achieved with testing it on the wife's bike.
