Hey all you Old Skool Riders,
I am going to see Chris Boardman do a press release on his new Bike range and talk them up etc. There will be a question and answer with him and Pete Jacobs who's a bit of a gun Ironman
http://www.boardmanbikes.com/boardman/boardman_Pete_Jacobs.html
I've then got to write up an article afterwards. Got any good question ideas?? It can be anything, topics I've got so far are
-General info behind the design of his new bikes
-Working with the ever changing UCI regulations (thanks lama) etc, was it a hindrance when he was GB tech director for the 2008 Olympics? What about now as a manufacturer? Is that why you are focusing on Ironmen??
-What about if people could still use the superman position? In general are UCI regulations holding back necessary innovation to keep cycling constantly evolving or are they ensuring the race remains one between cyclists as opposed to one between manufacturers?
-Thoughts going into London Olympics, something about how shit it is the pursuit is gone, will it attract the same interest with the omnium?
-With the Omnium being more specialised will that signifiy the slow death of track because it makes it much harder for road cyclists to come back to track racing with limited preparation?
-Does he think Sky can ride for Cav and Wiggins at the Tour?
....
Any good old racing questions? Anything, anything at all..
- after a career that included a few yellow jerseys and stage wins in the Tour, trouncing folks in the Grand Prix des Nations for 5 minutes and several World Records for the hour and pursuit, does he feel miffed that he never won a Rolex on the Lancashire Road Club's Ramsbottom Rake hillclimb?
- given his form in 1996 at the time of the Ultimate hour record, how much would he have beat his then 25 mile (40km and change) RTTC competition record? How much quicker could he have gone during his decor setting ride given the use of a full aero bike and helmet and gears rather than fixed.
- which was physically hardest - the ultimate hour record on the Lotus bike or beating the "Merckx" record on a plain old' track bike.
