What do 11,000 cookies, free laundry, and 350 miles of continuous trail have in common? All come from acts of passion for bicycling and the generosity of spirit shown by past Adventure Cycling Awards winners. The time has come to recognize the next round of bicycling advocates — all we need are your nominations.

Did you go on a challenging bicycle tour with an amazing group leader? Were you the recipient of a kindly act of generosity on the trail? Do you frequent a bike shop that goes the extra mile to put you back safely on the road? Now’s the time to celebrate these bicycle travel heroes through Adventure Cycling’s four annual, nationally recognized bicycle travel awards.

The Pacesetter Award recognizes and applauds the efforts of those who, through extraordinary efforts, have contributed to the success of individuals’ bicycle travels in the U.S. Read more about the 2nd annual Pacesetter Award and nominate at www.adventurecycling.org/outreach/awards/champion.cfm.

The June Curry Trail Angel Award goes to individuals who have gone out of their way to help touring cyclists. Read more about the “cookie lady,” the Trail Angel award, and nominate at www.adventurecycling.org/outreach/awards/trailangel.cfm.

The Braxton Bike Shop Award honors a shop that goes above and beyond the call of duty in providing service to bicycle travelers. Read more about this prestigious award and nominate at www.adventurecycling.org/outreach/awards/bikeshop.cfm.

The Adventure Cycling Volunteer of the Year Award is our way of saying ‘thank you’ each year to a volunteer who has helped the organization further its goal of inspiring people of all ages to travel by bicycle. Read more about the Volunteer of the Year Award at www.adventurecycling.org/outreach/awards/volunteer.cfm. Nominations for this award are accepted from Adventure Cycling staff, leaders, and Board of Directors.

Your nominations for the 2007 Adventure Cycling Awards will be accepted through September 30, 2007. For further details visit www.adventurecycling.org/outreach/awards or contact Becky Douglas at (406) 721-1776 ext. 235, or [email protected].
