Requested: Using Frozen Strawberries
From: Carol
After purchasing a few quarts of fresh whole strawberries, I froze 2
quarts. I would like to use them but do not know how to. I am looking for
recipes using these frozen berries. Thank you.

Strawberry Jam

1 cup all purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1 quart frozen strawberries (already sweetened)

Mix flour and sugar together. I actually use a Pillsbury icing container
with the lid on and shake it up. This will keep for a long time. I use
this mixture for as least (4) quarts of berries.

Put the frozen berries in the microwave for a few minutes. Place in sauce
pan heat on low to medium heat until berries are thawed out. I actually
chop the berries some. Sprinkle the flour/sugar mixture onto the berries.
(Probably 1/2 cup)I can't tell you exactly how much because it really
depends on how much water is in your berries. This is just a thicking
agent. Stir the mixture in the berries until you no longer see the flour.
As it heats you should see it getting thicker. Sprinkle more mixture in
if you need it thicker. Pour on hot fresh buttered biscuts. Wonderful
recipe for frozen berries. :)
