Hey guys, I am new to cycling and looking for a good road bike. I plan on doing charity rides, occasional races, and riding 3-5 times a week. I am considering spending $1500-2500 on the bike. I think I have narrowed it down to three bikes, but am open to suggestions. Bianchi Sempre pro 105- $2400 Bianchi Vertigo 105- $2000 Bianchi Impulso Ultegra- $1700 I was wondering how much better of a bike I would be getting for the extra $400 from the Vertigo to the Sempre pro? Would any of these be good road bikes for what I've described? It does not have to be a bianchi, that is just one of the brands along with specilized and focus that my LBS carries. Thanks in advance, Chris

Most significantly, the Sempre Pro frame is a racier geometry, meaning the top tube is longer and the head tube is shorter. It's also a new model this year (same geometry as last year, though), with a new carbon layup, a tapered head tube for a stiffer front end, and other refinements. The Vertigo has an "endurance" C2C geometry and the carbon layup is less high-modulus. The Impulso frame is aluminum.

I rode last year's Sempre, liked it a lot, but not enough to end up buying a Trek Madone 5. Whenever the question comes up, I wonder if I would have liked the new Sempre the best, especially when I'm riding on bad road.

If you like the C2C geometry, get the Vertigo or look at the Infinito.

Similarly equipped bikes from the other major brands are all worth considering.

Thanks. I think I would like the more racier geometry of the Sempre then. I am also going to look at some other brands at an LBS though.
