By the way, feel free to share this post and survey link with your cyclists and we will appreciate any thoughts about reLock here in comments or in survey form.

What nonsense this lock is. I like the way you made the teeny tiny speaker sound like a stadium speaker, HAHAHAHAHA, that's ridiculas! And then you simply walk away with the safety of knowing that if someone tries to steal your bike you're phone will alert you, except with modern battery powered angle grinders that thief will be long gone before you get there, or maybe the thief wants your bike so bad he'll just shoot or stab you if you show before they leave.

I'm sure you'll find plenty of people to buy into that nonsense because a lot people are into technical **** these days, but not me.

Nice video.

Locks...and enhancements such as reLock...keep honest people honest. Against even amateur thieves they are not much of a deterrent. Cars and trucks are equipped with all manner of anti-theft devices and they still vanish in less than 60 seconds with the thief not even breaking a sweat.

If you have to lock your bike up and need even more of a security blanket than a $100 U-Lock or a log chain big enough to pull a bulldozer out of 4' of mud it just might be time to re-think your lifestyle, your transportation strategy or perhaps start carrying around a 1911 loaded with 230 grain hollow points and help rid the world of thieves.

I agree with you Bob, wait, please don't shoot me with your 1911 because I agree with you!!

The car companies keep changing the technology in an attempt to thwart thieves, and these efforts work the first year or two, then the the thieves readjust and figure out the new technology and soon the car thefts are back up. Some thieves simply steal the key making devices that car dealers use to make keys! or they make their own key chip hacker. If a thief can steal a modern car with modern anti theft systems it would be a piece of cake to steal a bike.

The best strategy to prevent your $8,000 bike from being stolen while at work or school or wherever, is to buy and use a $250 or so bike whenever you know you'll be leaving it, and lock that one up instead using a $45 lock and saving $250 in locks in a feeble attempt to protect the $8 grand bike.
