All larger US cities have a considerably higher murder rate than Toronto. Clearly something wrong with the society south of the border. Not saying Toronto is perfect but for its size Toronto is very safe and our worst neigborhoods are considered to be decent in the US. So thankfully we here in Canada, Australia, western Europe, and Asia, do not feel the need to carry guns on us. Its very sad that you feel its neccessary to carry one. Probably the high crime rate is due to desperate measures to aquire funds to pay for medical insurance and bills because you guys are the only country in the world that does not have universal health care. Tell Bush to stop spending so much on military toys and start spending money on its own people, the results of that would be very rewarding.
Also the point needs to be made that not all crime involves guns.
Where campybob is located the majority of crimes may involve the use of guns.
But like Canada, we have little or no gun crime here.
That said gun ownership is only legal for those who have licences over here(tiny minority of people).
The only thing I carry with me when cycling is.............puncture repair kit/tyre levers/spanners in my saddle bag, and some water bottles in my waterbottle cage.
