Hi, I'm considering changing my current double to a triple to get the extra range. I'm currently set up with a full 2007 campagnolo record setup with an 53/39 ultra-torque crank and medium cage rear delailleur. Do I need to change anything aside from the crank and the bottom bracket to change this setup to a triple? I'm 57 years old and I find that I need the extra gearing for some of the rides I do out west. I have considered going to a compact setup however it seems to me I would have to change the front and rear derailleur to make the switch to compact. It seems the least amount of change would come with switching to a triple vice compact. any suggestions would be appreciated.
