I've had a TACX Excel trainer for about 5 years now. A year or so ago the heart rate function died;
a couple of days ago the cadence function died. I'm wondering 1. if other folks have had similar
experiences 2. whether or not it's possible to get a replacement computer unit (at a decent price)
without chasing to the ends of the earth and 3. whether there are other comparable alternatives.

Thanks in advance.

I have a 20 year old pair of rollers -- and they are still going strong after a few bearing changes
(standard size bought at bearing store). I broke an end-cap five or so years ago, and the people at
Tacx sent me one from Holland free of charge. I would send them an e-mail and see what they can do
for you -- or try the USA importer, Ochsner Int. Try http://www.tacx.nl/frameset.cfm?l=en&id=100. --
