Ultegra 6700 wheels

Hey all, I have the chance to pick up a set of Ultegra wheels for a good price and was just wondering are these any good ?They look well built and are light,any info would be great.Thanks.

Hey Froze, yes those are the Ultegra's I can get but he will take $290 so I think I will pick them up.Thanks for the info.

Make sure the braking surfaces, the side of the rims where the brakes contact, are not worn.  That's a good deal though assuming their in great shape.  Obviously their not high end wheels but their not low end either, but they are built very good and will be more then adequate for the average rider, and will handle the rigors of street riding better then high end wheels.  You would have to spend about twice that much to get anything reasonably better, anything less then twice as much will only get you fractional better wheels if you lucky!  And you're never going to notice a fractionally better wheel set in terms of performance.

 

I have 7 road bikes and a mtb, a couple of the road bikes I raced...but this was back in the early 80's and much as changed since then.  But none of those bikes have exotic wheels because I don't race anymore and don't need that level of performance, what I do need is wheels that will hold up for a long time being abused by everyday street conditions.  So my wheels are not the lightest greatest wheels on the market thus not very expensive, but they hold up wonderfully.

 

If they check out then you have a great find and value for the money spent.
