Today is my birthday

B

Billie Severy

Guest
Anyone else born on January 8th? I plan to give myself the best birthday present of all....STAYING
ON PROGRAM!

I have turned down all invitations to celebrate my birthday, which really means going out for
unhealthy food. Instead, I told everyone, thank you for the wishes, but all I want for my birthday
is to be left entirely alone and have a day off that is just for me. I'd like to spend the day doing
whatever I want to do at the moment, with no schedules, no phone calls to return, no housework, no
guests to entertain, and NO CAKE!

I plan to do things that I love but don't usually get a chance to do. My husband ( he gets to come
along since he won't try to talk me into eating unhealthily, plus he's a love :) ) and I will visit
the Conservatory of Flowers in San Francisco to sketch.....then go birding in Golden Gate
Park.....and on to the Strybing Arboretum for a walk. Somewhere along the way we will fit in a
healthy lunch, a hot bath in our spa tub, and a nap. In my view, it's the perfect day.......beats
birthday cake by a mile...... and is totally within my point range! :)

I am betting it will be my best birthday ever!

Happy Birthday to any twins I have out there!

Cheers, Billie ( who is going to do it this time!!!!!)

What a lovely way to spend your birthday-doing the things YOU want to do instead of what others
think you want to do.

Happy birthday.

Elvis! :)

But seriously... Happy Birthday, Billie! Sounds like a great way to spend the day! :)

Thanks to everyone for the good wishes!

I had a fantastic birthday......ate out for lunch (grilled chicken salad) and dinner
( avegetarian soup) and stayed within my point range! The visit to the Conservatory of Flowers was
delightful.....the highlight being a butterfly room with many species of exotic
butterflies.....some that even flew onto our hands! It was a real treat and I was glad that I
could celebrate without overeating. Surprise.....Birthdays don't HAVE TO be about FOOD!

Happy Birthday to all you other January babies and especially to Carol's daughter, Billie (that's
pretty incredible.....I've only met one other female Billie in my life!) MY daughter's birthday was
yesterday, the day after mine, Jan. 9th.......sadly she shares her special day with Richard Nixon,
while us lucky Billies' share ours with THE KING.

Today, I had a huge homemade dark chocolate truffle which I don't even know how to count, but I was
VERY brave because I declined the giant box of them that my friend was trying to give me! I tried to
counteract the calories by having a very light lunch and dinner. But anyway, I have to say that no
matter how many points it was.......it was worth every one and then some! That's another good reason
for staying on program all week.......... in case a chocolate truffle accidently jumps into your
mouth.....you've always got those flex points at the ready!

Wishing everyone a good week, Billie

This is really funny - I am JUST starting my diet (last Sunday) and occasionly lurk here....but have
never posted.....but MY daughter's birthday is 1/8/86 and HER NAME is Billie too - Now I won't be
afraid to post!!

The chocolate truffles I make, which end up being the size of a very large grape. Big enough for 2
bites if you want, or small enough to just pop in your mouth, work out to 3 points for the
chocolate, 2 points for the caramel. Just so you know! Yes, it's not something you can just sit and
mindlessly munch on, but not so bad that it uses all the flex points.
