Default Pate behind bars!

Quote:
Cycling champ's bail revoked

FORMER world cycling champion Stephen Pate has had his bail revoked after again allegedly threatening his wife.

Pate, 38, was granted bail on 16 charges on November 25 last year after two alleged assaults on his wife in their home in East Bentleigh, a Melbourne suburb, earlier that month.
He was released on condition he not contact his wife or go within 200m of the family home and also comply with an earlier intervention order.

Prosecutor Jack Vandersteen told the Melbourne Magistrates Court today Pate had contacted his wife at 10.30am yesterday, intimidating and harassing her.

At 7am today, Pate allegedly made further contact with his wife.

Pate, who appeared in the body of the court, did not oppose the application to revoke his bail and was immediately remanded into custody.

Last year, the same court was told Pate was accused of punching his wife in the head and body, threatening her with a knife and shaking her violently while she tried to escape him and call police.

Pate was a dominant figure in track cycling in the 1980s and 1990s, winning the world professional sprint championships in 1988.

Magistrate Dan Muling has remanded him to appear on February 25 when he is expected to make a new application for bail.

Cycling champ behind bars

FORMER world cycling champion Stephen Pate, accused of assaulting his wife, is behind bars after being accused of breaching bail conditions by threatening her.

Prosecutor Jack Vandersteen told Melbourne Magistrates' Court that Pate, 38, phoned his wife on Monday "threatening and harassing" her and that he phoned her again yesterday.
Pate's bail conditions restrained him from contacting her or going within 200m of their East Bentleigh home.

Peter Clarebrough, for Pate, said his client did not oppose revocation of bail.

Magistrate Dan Muling remanded Pate until later this month.

Pate won a silver medal at the world championships in 1996.

Exclamation Re: Pate behind bars!

Obviously!

Just like spousal abuse in Amercia's National Football League:

OJ Simpson
Rod Martin
Chuck Muncie
Dana Stubblefield
Michael Strahan

Glad to see that no Aussie have lost their eGH vials or sharps bunckets.

As of late--only the US Cyclists are drug busted:

Stephen Alfred
Tammy Thomas
Guenieve Jeanson
Lance Armstrong
Tyler Hamilton
Floyd Landis
Adam Bergen
Frankie Andreu
Matt DeCaneo
Adham Sbeih

et al....
