Super Tour is an annual non-commercial (run by volunteers)
cycling tour that takes place every year (and has since 1975). I have been doing this tour for the last 20 years. For 2004 the tour will be doing a loop around Colorado. It is a 14 day tour, covering 1300 miles (the average daily mileage is 93), 14 passes, over 60,000 feet of climbing and will be held from August 15 through August 28. Cost is $600 which covers all camping fees (accommodations are generally in commercial campgrounds or schools, showers are normally available), daily maps and route sheets, equipment hauling (no need to carry camping gear on your bike - just pack for a day ride), camp breakfasts, post- ride snacks, and dinners. There will be a maximum of 40 riders on the tour. For more details, a flyer on the trip is at http://supertour.home.att.net/. SuperTour is a challenging tour, but if you like to ride and want a great cycling vacation, I can highly recommend it! |
