Default Walking 5-6 times per week

I have found to be successful in toning and weightloss by
walking 5-6 times per week for an hour. I had hit a plateau
and needed to break it! I usually walk any hill I find and
average 5 miles per walk. I have lost a total of 62 lbs. so
far. I feel much better. Does anyone have any suggestions
on what to do to replace this routine during inclement
weather? Sally

I don't, other than skip a day or two. However I walk at
night and live where it rarely rains hard and snow happens
maybe once every ten years and does not stick and is almost
always under 80 by 10 PM.

If needed I put a raincoat on but always wear shorts.

Considered jumping rope?

A good raincoat. With a hood that you can cinch up or
tie together.

GoreTex works well for me. It's not cheap, but can be found
on sale sometimes. And there's always Holiday & Birthday (&
Mothers Day, if applicable) wish lists!

Or, in warmer weather, Just Get Wet!

Plan for the fact that your feet will get wet & you'll need
to change your shoes & sox (& probably everything else!) as
soon as you finish.

The only conditions I let stop me from outdoor exercise is
ice & heavy snowstorm!

Congrats on the weight loss. Don't let a little bad weather
deter you from sticking to your successful routine! bj

I would highly recommend a treadmill if it is within your
budget. I've been walking an hour nearly every day for the
past two years and I've gone from 225 lbs to 155 lbs. A
treadmill is great for those days when the weather is bad.

Mine is a Sears Pro-Form model I got at a discount, but I
don't know if it's a model I'd particularly recommend. Not
that it's bad, I just think any decent treadmilll would do.
