Default Bike Box Storage in France

I am going to France with 3 friends in late July to see the
last week of the Tour. I have been trying to make
arrangements to store 3 hard sided cases without much luck.
I tried the hotel where we start and end our trip and they
do not have room to store the cases. Has anyone out there
done this recently and if so where did you keep your case
while riding? Our car is not going to be big enough.

Thanks!

I think your best bet is to find a hotel that will agree
to store the cases, and make it a condition of staying
there. The only other alternative I know about is to store
at the airport or a train station, but that might cost a
fortune. Ken

I'd try a local bike shop. Maybe buy a jersey or something
from them or pay storage. I have found local bike shops very
helpful. --

Hello from France...

I think this might be a good solution. The problem is that
as this time of the year, hotels usually don't lack clients
and may don't bother loosing 2 or 3 peoples... I'm sure
however that you may find some places with nice people that
will understand you... that may takes some time to find out
! In which town is your hotel ?

Don't even think about that... Since many years (even before
11/09/2001) where some bombing accored in stations, the
storing area in airports and stations have been closed...

Depending on the place you go, another valuable solution may
be to reach some local bike association. Usually people
having the same hobbies and probably encountered some of its
issues may be willing to take care of your stuff. If you
tell me where you go, i'll try to find a local association
contact for you.

Mathieu
