I purchased a B17 standard and a B17 narrow from bike
nashbar. Easch came in a brooks box and were very hard at first. I just received a b17 standard from wallbike.com . It came on a hanging card and is a much softer leather and is showing my sit bone indents after 20 miles. Is there a difference in quality between the boxed and hanging saddles? |

RE/

The second one was one of the fancy B17's (british racing green). Some stuff written by Rivendell would lead you to believe that different B17 models come with different thicknesses of leather (http://r- ivendellbicycles.com/webalog/saddles_accessories/11055.html) |

Yes you have got it Peter. In spite of the advances in genetic engineering,
living beasts - including cows - are less standardized than say deraillers or BBs :-) "(Pete Cresswell)" wrote: > RE/ > >Is there a difference in quality between the boxed and > >hanging saddles? > > I think it's more a lack of standardization in the > leather. |
