Hey,
I am thinking I am going to come to New Zealand when I go abroad. I live for my bike(s). Should I bring my road or mountain bike?

It really depends where you're planning to stay, but there are excellent road and mountain biking options all over the country.
Go to www.mountainbike.co.nz for some suggestions and for a link to buy the Kennet brothers' book about mtb routes over here; it's essential reading. Lonely Planet has a fairly comprehensive cycle touring guide, if that's your thing. If you want to know about roadracing try www.cyclingnz.com you'll find a calendar of races and tours, along with contact info for entries. There are heaps of local bunch rides too, most of which are very friendly - just turn up at the appointed place and join in. M |
