...when riding with lycra shorts, but without a hydration
pack or belt pack? I've been shoving them in the spare tire wedge under the saddle....but it seems like there has TB a better way. Somehow, I think an answer may be somewhere in Case Logic's line....but I haven't seen it yet. One idea: a velcro closure on one or two of the jersey rear pockets... Any others? -- PeteCresswell |

Dear Pete, Perhaps a small triangular frame pack, something smaller than the full-size bag from Nashbar that I've been using for several years? http://www.nashbar.com/profile.cfm?...6&subcategory=- 1006&brand=&sku=6799&storetype=&estoreid=&pagename= The zipper runs along the top left-hand side, and the bag would easily swallow your saddle-wedge, a wallet, and other things. It's a better way in that it's quicker and easier to open and use than a small saddle-wedge. Mine holds two slime tubes, two normal long-stem tubes, a small pump, a few parts, a bag of tools, and a small towel. I expect that a smaller version would be more likely to suit you, assuming that you have no deep religious prejudice against frame bags slowly marring your paint job. Carl Fogel |

I just take a house key rather than the whole keyring. It never has come close to falling out (i don't go off-road) but you could add some velcro to your pockets to be on the safe side. I also have some coins in my wedge pack in case i forget to take other money or my phone, this is in case i need to use a pay-phone. |

On my road bike I use a neat little Cycle Pro clip-on wedgie (alas, can't find another one, wish I could) that holds my usual essentials but little else. The Jandd bag will hold my phone, ID, keys, and a couple of Fig Newtons. Regards, Tom |

It requires shorts with a narrow > waistband. Hmmm. It appears that I only answered the "car keys" part of the original question... to continue, you can stuff a driver's license into your shorts from the leg end and it stays put. You can also do this with a credit card, though the signature has a tendency to rub off. If you put the signature side away from your body, it may help prevent this. My cell phone goes in my trunk bag. It looks like the other posters have covered the "very small bags" field well. Personally, I like to have things like keys, ID, and money actually on my body rather than on the bike. YMMV. HTH Reid |

I put keys couple of bucks and that's about it in the
Jersey, unless I know I need the wallet. Cell Phone? Have a little mercy on yourself and leave it. BT |

Some "mountain bike jerseys" have zippered rear pockets. But what's wrong with the regular jersey packets, one for wallet, one for phone, and the third one for keys? This is exactly what I do, and never lost anything. |
